Volunteers are the heart of the East Texas Food Bank logging hundreds of service hours and distributing over 10 million pounds of food each year.

Volunteers are welcome on an ongoing basis. Our opertating hours are Monday-Thursday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. We also regularly schedule evening and Saturday volunteer times for those who can't volunteer during normal business hours. If you are interested in volunteering you may download and complete a volunteer application and mail it to 3201 Robertson Tyler, Tx 75701; or fax to 903.597.7659.

::Ways to volunteer::

Volunteers sort boxes in our Salvage/Reclaim Program. Food items and household products that have been donated by local grocery stores and collected at food drives.  Volunteers are needed in our Repack Room to repack bulk dried products such as beans, rice, cereal, pasta, paper products, etc. into smaller quantities. Office Volunteers are occasionally needed to help with office and administrative support.  Duties include filing, data entry, light typing, photocopying and other duties.  Food Drives are a great way for businesses, civic groups, youth groups, families, friends, congregations, and neighborhoods to build morale and teamwork. Learn more> Volunteers are needed occasionaly needed for Special Events.  Annual events include: food drives with the Letter Carriers and Boy Scouts of America, outreach fairs, seasonal projects and fundraisers.

Drivers are needed to pick up bread from designated stores and deliver to the East Texas Food Bank on certain days.
